The story of Snow White:
Michigan Ballet Academy’s rendition of classic fairy tale, Snow White, is about a beautiful princess named Snow White, who is the daughter of a kind and fair queen. When the queen dies, Snow White is left alone in the care of the Rose Fairy and her Wildflowers, who introduce her to The Prince. Snow White’s father remarries a wicked stepmother, who is jealous of Snow White’s beauty. The Evil Queen constantly asks her Magic Mirror, “Who is the fairest of them all?” When one day the mirror declares Snow White to be the fairest, the wicked queen becomes enraged and orders a Huntsman to get rid of Snow White for good.
The Huntsman, however, cannot bring himself to harm Snow White and lets her go. Snow White flees into the dark forest. After losing her way, she is befriended by the Woodland Animals and meets the charming Seven Dwarfs. She takes refuge with the dwarfs and they warn her to be cautious of her stepmother.
The wicked queen, learning that Snow White is still alive, disguises herself as an old peddler woman and gives Snow White a poisoned apple. Snow White takes a bite and falls into a deep sleep. Snow White’s friends, unable to wake her, are filled with sadness.
The Prince, who has fallen in love with Snow White, comes to see her and finds her deep in enchanted sleep. He breaks the spell through the power of True Love and Snow White awakens. The Prince and Snow White celebrate with The Rose Fairy, The Seven Dwarfs and the Woodland Animals and everyone lives happily ever after.
